Job summary

Pipeline Environmental Management Europe is seeking an Urban Planner to monitor planning impacts on pipeline infrastructure across the Netherlands and Belgium. You will maintain legal records, manage permits and land documentation, and coordinate with authorities on permitting processes.

The role emphasizes independent work, strong organizational skills, and fluency in Dutch, with English as a plus. Location involves multiple sites across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Spatial Planning or related field.
• Equivalent professional experience in urban or spatial planning considered.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills in Dutch (written and verbal); English is a plus.
• Ability to work independently with a proactive approach.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Valid driving license (Category B).

Responsibilities

• Monitor government and development plans in the Netherlands and Belgium to identify potential threats to pipeline infrastructure.
• Maintain and update legal records including permits, easements, and land documentation.
• Manage notarial and cadastral matters related to pipeline routes.
• Update and assess Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) and external safety standards.
• Provide and manage spatial and planning-related information through official platforms and databases.
• Prepare reports on planning-related risks and pipeline damage.
• Participate in project meetings and site visits across the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Coordinate with government authorities regarding permitting processes and infrastructure developments.
• Communicate with landowners, users, and contractors regarding pipeline activities.
• Process and manage geographic and planning data within spatial systems.
