Job summary

U-People is seeking an experienced Mechanical Foreman for a maritime project environment. You will lead a team of mechanical technicians, coordinate daily activities and ensure planning, safety and quality align with technical requirements.

Responsibilities include guiding technicians, coordinating with engineering and subcontractors, monitoring progress, and resolving bottlenecks. Dutch and/or English proficiency is required, with VCA VOL certification or willingness to obtain it.

Qualifications

• MBO-3/4 technical education in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• 1–3 years in a technical supervisory or coordinating role.
• Knowledge of mechanical installations and technical systems.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
• Good command of Dutch and/or English.
• VCA VOL certificate or willingness to obtain it.

• Lead, guide and support mechanical technicians on a daily basis.
• Assign and coordinate work based on planning, priorities and capacity.
• Coordinate with work preparation, engineering, other disciplines and subcontractors.
• Monitor progress, quality, safety and technical execution.

• Report on progress, deviations and key points of attention.

Are you an experienced mechanical professional who enjoys keeping an overview and leading a team? For a technically advanced project environment, we are looking for a Mechanical Foreman who coordinates daily activities and ensures planning, quality and safety come together.

As a Mechanical Foreman, you lead a team of mechanical technicians and coordinate the work within your assigned area. You stay close to the execution, monitor progress and make sure activities are carried out safely, efficiently and in line with technical requirements.

Your responsibilities:

• Lead, guide and support mechanical technicians on a daily basis
• Assign and coordinate work based on planning, priorities and capacity
• Coordinate with work preparation, engineering, other disciplines and subcontractors
• Monitor progress, quality, safety and technical execution
• Identify and resolve technical and organisational bottlenecks
• Report on progress, deviations and key points of attention

Who we are looking for:

• Completed MBO-3/4 technical education in Mechanical Engineering or similar
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in a technical supervisory or coordinating role
• Knowledge of mechanical installations and technical systems
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Good command of Dutch and/or English
• VCA VOL certificate, or willingness to obtain it
