Job summary

Medline in Utrecht is seeking an experienced Compliance Manager EMEA to strengthen its compliance function across the region. Based at the Utrecht headquarters, you will work in a highly international environment, collaborating with stakeholders across countries to support ethical business practices and sustainable growth.

Qualifications

• Law degree, preferably with compliance or privacy qualification (e.g. CIPP/E, CCEP).
• 5+ years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, or risk management within an international environment.
• Solid knowledge of compliance, ABAC, third-party risk management, and GDPR.
• Experience leading projects and working with stakeholders across functions and countries.
• Strong communication and influencing skills, combined with commercial awareness and pragmatic approach.
• Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or another highly regulated industry is preferred.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Medline’s compliance program across EMEA, driving its continued development and effectiveness.
• Lead high-impact compliance and privacy initiatives that support both regulatory requirements and business growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on compliance, ethics, GDPR, and risk management matters.
• Support privacy impact assessments and privacy-by-design initiatives in collaboration with Legal, IT, HR, Commercial, and Operations teams.
• Identify and assess compliance risks, translating complex regulations into practical and commercially sound solutions.
• Manage third-party compliance due diligence processes involving distributors, agents, consultants, suppliers, and other business partners.
• Champion a culture of integrity through policies, training, awareness programmes, and stakeholder engagement.

The Position

As Compliance Manager EMEA, you will play a key role in strengthening and further developing Medline’s compliance function across the region. Working in a highly international environment, you will collaborate with stakeholders across multiple countries and functions to support ethical business practices and sustainable growth.

The Compliance Manager reports directly to the Compliance Director International.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of Medline’s compliance program across EMEA, driving its continued development and effectiveness.
• Lead high-impact compliance and privacy initiatives that support both regulatory requirements and business growth.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on compliance, ethics, GDPR, and risk management matters.

The Profile

Medline is looking for:

• A Law degree, preferably supplemented with a compliance or privacy qualification (e.g. CIPP/E, CCEP).
• 5+ years of experience in compliance, legal, regulatory, or risk management within an international environment.
