Job summary

Smart Freight Centre (SFC) is a global non-profit focused on climate action in freight. We seek a Communications Intern to support social media, digital marketing, and event communications, translating technical topics into engaging narratives.

You will report to the Marketing & Communications Manager and gain hands-on experience across channels. Responsibilities include content creation, campaign planning, and updating websites, with opportunities to contribute to the annual report and

Qualifications

• Passion for communication and storytelling.
• Curious and eager to learn with questions and feedback.
• Creative and adaptable with ability to generate new ideas.
• Proactive, organized, and able to handle multiple deadlines.
• Analytical and comfortable with data to derive insights.
• Tech-savvy with MS Office and Canva; familiarity with video editing, CMS (Wagtail), and email tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Strategize yearly content and digital marketing plans for social media and newsletters.
• Draft and publish content on LinkedIn, Bluesky, and YouTube; create graphics in Canva and edit podcast videos.
• Develop infographic templates and source imagery for publications such as annual report.
• Translate complex information into clear storytelling for diverse audiences.
• Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns for events like Smart Freight Week.
• Support email marketing campaigns in Salesforce and BeeFree; assist with newsletters and event reminders.
