Job summary

Oikocredit's Communications team in Amersfoort, the Netherlands, invites applications for a Communications Intern (32-40 hours/week) to support internal events, intranet management, and content creation across global audiences.

The internship runs 4–6 months starting November 2026, with an allowance of €400/month for bachelor students or €500/month for master students, pro-rated if hours vary, and travel reimbursements for those without an OV card. Remote work is not indicated.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in bachelor or master in communications/marketing and Netherlands resident with valid work permit.
• Interest in development finance and development communications.
• Some experience in communications/marketing; content creation is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English; other languages (French/Spanish) helpful.
• Familiar with Microsoft 365; SharePoint or intranet experience advantageous.
• Attention to detail, time management and self-organisation skills.
• Proactive, eager to learn and able to take initiative.
• Creativity and eye for visual communication and design.
• Self-motivated, comfortable in a remote environment.
• Experience in an English-speaking, international setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support campaigns with content creation, research, coordination and rollout.

• Collaborate across Marketing, Communications and Advocacy teams on projects.
• Provide general administrative and project support with timely delivery.

Job description

For our Communications team composed of four team members, we are looking for a Communications Intern (32-40 hours) to be based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.

We also offer the possibility to write a thesis if this is required by your studies.

The start date will be in November 2026 or shortly after, for a period of 4 – 6 months.

Main responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination and facilitation of internal events and meetings across in-person, online and hybrid formats.
• Assist with the management and maintenance of Oikocredit's global intranet, including publishing, reviewing and updating content.
• Create and edit internal communications content, including news articles, announcements and employee engagement materials.
• Support internal communications campaigns by assisting with content creation, research, coordination and rollout activities.
• Contribute to the development of visual communication materials, including presentations, graphics and other creative assets.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the Marketing, Communications and Advocacy team on a variety of communications projects and initiatives.
• Provide general administrative and project support, ensuring tasks are delivered accurately and within agreed timelines.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Students enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree programme in the field of communications, marketing, or related, and living in the Netherlands with a valid work permit.
• A strong interest in development finance and development communications.
• Some (work) experience in communications and/or marketing.
• Experience in content creation will be considered an asset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, other languages (French, Spanish) will be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications; experience with content management systems, SharePoint or intranet platforms is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail, time management and self-organisation skills.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn and confidence to take initiative.
• Creativity and an eye for visual communication and design.
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable working in a remote environment.

• You will receive an internship allowance amounting to €500 gross per month for Master students and €400 gross per month for Bachelor’s students, on the basis of 40 hours per week. In case the number of hours is less, the allowance will be calculated pro rata.
• In case you do not have a public transport (OV) subscription, Oikocredit will reimburse travel expenses on the base of second class public transport.
