Communication and Outreach Manager WCVB

The City of Warrensburg is accepting applications for the position of Communication and Outreach Manager for Visit Warrensburg.

Essential Duties

Essential duties include developing and implementing communication strategies aligned with organization goals, telling Warrensburg’s story through the Visit Warrensburg social media accounts, administering and optimizing VisitWarrensburg.com and building positive partnerships with area tourism stakeholders. This role will include managing part time staff, interns, and volunteers at various times. The manager will coordinate Visit Warrensburg’s participation in outreach events, so travel and an outgoing personality will be required. It is crucial for the individual selected to maintain a working knowledge of the destination events, attractions, and services available to visitors in the area to be successful.

Qualifications and Experience

A strong, working knowledge of tourism, marketing, communications and promotional best practices is strongly encouraged. Experience with creating professional digital content and managing social media platforms is required. The position requires managing multiple projects simultaneously; advanced interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Schedule and Working Conditions

The position is full-time and will require working some weekends, evenings, and holidays, as needed. Hybrid, flexible or remote scheduling is not available for this position.

Pay

Pay starts at $19.69/hour.
