Job summary

DAF Trucks Deutschland GmbH zoekt een Commodity Manager die verantwoordelijk is voor de inkoop van een toegewezen portfolio en het vormgeven van de inkooptactiek. Je werkt nauw samen met engineering, kwaliteit, productie en logistiek om tijdige uitvoering te garanderen.

Je combineert strategisch denken met hands-on uitvoering en ontwikkelt leveranciers, onderhandelt contracten en streeft naar kosten-, kwaliteit- en prestatieverbeteringen, met voortdurende markt- en benchmarkingactiviteiten.

Responsibilities

• Beheren van een diverse portfolio aan invoeren portfolio (Injection Moulded, Lines & Hoses, Rubber en Rubber-to-Metal) en de strategie vormgeven.
• Definiëren van sourcing- strategieën en beheersing van leveringsrisico's.
• Onderhandelen van contracten, ontwikkelen van leveranciers en leveren van kosten-, kwaliteit- en prestatieverbeteringen.
• Stimuleren van continue verbeteringsinitiatieven om kwaliteit, betrouwbaarheid en prestaties te verhogen.
• Optreden als het schakelpunt tussen externe leveranciers en interne klanten.
• Nauw samenwerken met Engineering, Kwaliteit, Produktie en Logistiek en zo een sterk intern netwerk opbouwen en projecten tijdig laten verlopen.
• Afstemmen van leveranciersroadmaps op PACCAR’s lange termijn technologie-strategie.
• Actief zijn in vroege leveranciersbetrokkenheid bij nieuwe ontwikkelingen en marktonderzoek en benchmarking uitvoeren.

As a Commodity Manager you are responsible for the overall procurement of an assigned commodity portfolio.

• Take ownership of a diverse commodity portfolio covering Injection Moulded, Lines & Hoses, Rubber and Rubber-to-Metal components with the opportunity to further develop and shape the commodity strategy
• Combine strategic thinking with hands‑on execution, from defining sourcing strategies and mitigating supply risks to negotiating contracts, developing suppliers, and delivering cost, quality, and performance improvements
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality, reliability, and performance of your commodity’s systems
• You will act as the ‘spider in the web’ between external suppliers and the internal customers
• Close collaboration with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Logistics, enabling you to build a strong internal network , drive cross‑functional initiatives and ensure timely project execution
• Align supplier roadmaps with PACCAR’s long‑term technology strategy
• You will be active in early supplier involvement in new developments. In addition, you constantly engage in conducting market research and benchmarking in order to respond quickly to new market trends
