Job summary

Hitachi Energy recruits a Commissioning Engineer for its Grid Integration team, based in Rotterdam or Zaventem. The role oversees the final phase of engineering projects, ensuring safe and successful commissioning of high‑voltage systems. You will guide pre‑commissioning to client handover with emphasis on compliance and quality.

You will collaborate with global teams, mentor staff, and support bid activities while traveling within the region to sites and customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commissioning engineering within industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and project documentation.
• Excellent planning, coordination, and communication skills.
• Leadership ability and a proactive mindset.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the region and occasionally abroad.

• Deliver quality results on time and within budget, resolving issues and driving continuous improvement.
• Produce documentation and reports that meet client and regulatory standards.

• Conduct risk assessments and safety tours; implement mitigation strategies.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and support staff during commissioning activities.
• Support proposal development, technical sales, and contract scope assessments.
• Coordinate supply chain for commissioning tools and services.
