As a Commercial Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial and commercial performance of customer projects throughout their lifecycle. You will manage budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, invoicing, risk and opportunity assessments, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls. Working closely with project managers, customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders, you will drive project profitability, support strategic decision‑making, and contribute to the successful delivery of complex international projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Handling financial and commercial activities during the project execution, such as contract analysis, cost and margin analysis, guarantees, credit rating, currency/hedging, terms of payment, invoicing, focusing on cash flow, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Supporting the Project Manager in identifying, evaluating, and assessing risks & opportunities, negotiating changes with customers or vendors, as well as developing strategies and response activities.
- Taking ownership for forecasting your projects’ progress in revenue, profit margin, and cash flow on a monthly basis.
- Ensuring compliance with IFRS15, reporting guidelines, and internal controls.
- Supporting the implementation of lessons learned into your own projects and the organization in general, and helping to increase the calculation accuracy of our bids through early involvement.
- Managing relationships with external project partners and internal functions.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of professional experience in project controlling, commercial project management, or financial planning & analysis within an international, project-driven organization.
- Demonstrated experience as a subject matter expert, capable of managing large or complex projects with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong capabilities in project financial planning and execution, including managing the commercial and financial aspects of customer projects, developing budgets, forecasts and cash flow plans, overseeing invoicing and payment milestones, supporting contract and claims management, and conducting financial performance analysis to ensure project profitability and successful delivery.
- Capabilities in reporting, controlling, and forecasting, including the preparation of project status reports and financial forecasts, execution of project month‑end closing activities in compliance with IFRS and company guidelines, maintenance of accurate project data in SAP and other financial systems, and analysis of project profitability, revenue recognition, and working capital to support informed decision‑making.
- Experience in risk, opportunity, and compliance management, including commercial risk assessment, internal controls, and audit coordination to ensure compliance and effective governance.
