Job summary

Tessa in Rotterdam, Netherlands is seeking a senior backend engineer to keep backend services running with near-constant uptime. You will monitor, troubleshoot and extend our infrastructure, collaborating with software engineers to ensure scalable and reliable deployments.

You will manage Terraform code, improve CI/CD, and extend monitoring and alerting to catch issues before they affect users. Strong production experience and GDPR awareness are essential, with comfort toward certification

Qualifications

• Proven medior to senior production experience with uptime reliability.
• Fluency with the twelve-factor app methodology and applying it.
• Comfort with certification requirements and demonstrable correctness.
• Experience or willingness to learn AVG/GDPR quickly.

Responsibilities

• Run, monitor and maintain all backend services, and keep uptime as a given.
• Extend monitoring and active alerting to detect issues early.
• Troubleshoot operational problems and implement root-cause fixes.
• Maintain Terraform codebase for the entire infrastructure.
• Support the build server and CI/CD builds with engineers.
• Identify scalability limits and integrate new cloud services.
