Job summary

Tessa.Care in Rotterdam, Netherlands, is hiring a backend operations engineer to keep all services up and running. You will monitor, troubleshoot, and automate across our infrastructure, with Terraform at the core and close collaboration with software engineers to support CI/CD.

You should have medior to senior production experience, strong Linux and Docker skills, and familiarity with MySQL, Kong, and Concourse.

Qualifications

• Medior to senior experience — you've carried production before and know how it behaves at three in the morning.
• Proficient with Linux distributions (Debian/Red Hat/Busybox).
• Hands-on with Docker and Terraform.
• Experience with MySQL, Kong API gateway, and Concourse for CI/CD.
• Familiar with twelve-factor app methodology.
• Ability to automate repetitive tasks and optimize uptime.

Responsibilities

• Run, monitor and maintain backend services to keep uptime.
• Extend monitoring and active alerting to catch issues early.
• Troubleshoot problems and resolve root causes.
• Maintain Terraform codebase for infrastructure.
• Support the build server and CI/CD pipelines with engineers.
• Identify scalability limits and integrate new cloud services.
