Darwin Recruitment is seeking an experienced Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead to own and secure a growing AWS cloud platform, including CI/CD and observability stacks. The role is remote, Europe-based, with US-time-zone overlap and a 3-month freelance engagement that can extend; part-time (~20 hours/week) with CET afternoon overlap.

The ideal candidate has hands-on AWS, Kubernetes (EKS), Terraform, and CI/CD expertise, plus SaaS tooling administration and FinOps experience.

Qualificações

• Senior SRE/Cloud Engineer with strong hands-on AWS experience.
• Production Kubernetes experience, ideally on EKS.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring/observability with Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
• AWS security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management, secure networking.
• Hands-on with API gateways.
• Administration of enterprise SaaS tools and integrations (Google Workspace, HR platforms).
• FinOps and cloud cost management.
• Able to work afternoon CET hours to overlap with US-based colleagues.
• Nice to have: NIS2 compliance knowledge; Langfuse, LiteLLM, MCP.

Job title – Infrastructure & Cloud Security Lead

Client Location – Remote, Europe (team based in US time zones)

Remote work offering – 100%

Client Industry – Technology (SaaS / AI)

Contract Length – 3 months (extendable), ongoing part-time engagement

Contract type – Freelance, part-time (approx. 20 hours per week, with overlap into CET afternoons)

Project focus

You will take ownership of a growing AWS cloud platform, looking after the core infrastructure, developer deployment environments, CI/CD pipelines and observability stack. Alongside this you will be responsible for cloud security, access control and networking, administration of enterprise SaaS tooling, and keeping cloud spend under control as service volume scales.

Key skills and Experience required

• Senior SRE or Cloud Engineer background with strong hands-on AWS experience
• Running Kubernetes in production, ideally on EKS
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Monitoring and observability tooling such as Prometheus, Grafana or Datadog
• AWS security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management and secure networking
• Hands-on experience with API gateways
• Administration of enterprise SaaS tools and integrations (e.g. Google Workspace, HR platforms)
• FinOps and cloud cost management
• Able to work afternoon CET hours to overlap with US-based colleagues
