Cloud Lead

About Gradyent

Providing heating and cooling for homes, buildings and industry accounts for roughly 50% of global energy consumption. Smart production, exchange, and consumption of heat in heating grids is the most significant opportunity for cities and industries to decarbonize. Yet, as heating grids transform towards renewables, they become increasingly complex and require a new approach to control and design.

Gradyent is a leading software provider that helps cities and heavy industry decarbonize faster by digitizing, optimizing, and transforming their heat networks with our Digital Twin. We are scaling the platform globally and looking for a driven Senior Product Analyst to support our product team.

What You'll Do

As Cloud Lead you will own the roadmap and execution of Gradyent's cloud team. Currently 5 FTE but we aim to grow this in the coming year. This is a hands‑on engineering leadership role, light on product management, and heavy on managing people, projects, and technical execution. You’ll guide our engineers, set priorities, and act as the bridge between the cloud/security roadmap and business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and drive the cloud product roadmap in alignment with Gradyent’s product strategy.
  • Lead a team of ~5 FTE (and growing), fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
  • Translate business and product needs into scalable cloud architecture and services.
  • Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of cloud‑native infrastructure (primarily AWS, but also GCP and Azure).
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and observability across environments.
  • Monitor and optimize cloud spend across services and environments.
  • Collaborate with finance, CTO and other product leadership to align cloud investments with business value.
  • Own cloud security roadmap, including identity and access management, encryption, and incident response.
  • Take part in ISO team (we are 9001 and 27001 certified), bringing your experience and knowledge to help strengthen our security across the whole company.
  • Organize regular external security reviews, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Work closely with Director of Engineering, CTO, other product leads and Operations leads to deliver impactful features.
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, DevOps and security.
  • Proven track record in leading engineering teams (cloud or back‑end), with at least 2+ years of direct people management experience. You’ve hired, coached, and developed engineers, and know how to balance delivery with team growth.
  • Experience directly managing cloud engineering teams is ideal. If not, experience managing back‑end teams with strong exposure to cloud environments is the most relevant background.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Background in SaaS, energy tech, or AI platforms is a plus.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Proven experience managing cloud budgets and implementing cost optimization strategies.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and compliance frameworks.
What We Offer
  • A very ambitious scale‑up: raised Series B from an international consortium of investors in the sustainable energy industry.
  • The chance to have a direct impact on sustainability and energy transition.
  • An international, inspiring environment of brilliant, fun, creative professionals. A fast, dynamic and high‑performance culture open to new ideas and full of learning opportunities.
  • A competitive salary with a variable incentive (SAR) on top.
  • An excellent benefits package including an NS business card and fantastic team events.

At Gradyent, we support a growth mindset for our teams through all stages of their careers. If you meet some of the requirements and you share our values, we encourage you to apply. As part of our ongoing commitment to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive workplace, we’re invested in building teams with a wide variety of backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
