Job summary

flatexDEGIRO AG in Amsterdam is seeking a data/functional analyst to support Client Tax projects, gather business requirements, and translate them for IT teams. You will maintain documentation, perform reconciliations, and help improve data flows and tax reporting in a fast-growing, international environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration with business, tax, operations and IT, as well as strong Excel skills and English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Admin or related field.
• Professional experience in business analysis, data reconciliation, reporting, or operations in financial services.
• Understanding of securities processing, custody services, and financial data flows.
• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and IT teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Advanced Excel; SQL knowledge is a plus.
• Knowledge of tax reporting and/or QI reporting is a plus.
• Excellent English communication; other languages are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support the Client Tax department in tax-related projects, data analysis and reconciliation.

• Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and reconciliation breaks.
• Support QI reporting and other tax reporting through data validation and reconciliation.
• Prepare reconciliation reports and monitor data accuracy and compliance.
• Contribute to process optimization and automation initiatives.

What tasks can you expect with us?

Support the Client Tax department in tax-related projects, data analysis, and reconciliation activities.

Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for Client Tax initiatives.

Translate business requirements into functional specifications for IT development teams.

Act as the link between business, tax, operations, and IT stakeholders throughout project delivery.

Support testing, implementation, and validation of system and process changes.

Analyze data flows, identify gaps, and propose process improvement opportunities.

Maintain project, process, and requirements documentation.

Perform reconciliations between internal data and information received from custodians and external providers.

Investigate and resolve data discrepancies and reconciliation breaks.

Support QI reporting and other tax reporting obligations through data validation and reconciliation activities.

Prepare reconciliation reports and monitor data accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.

Contribute to process optimization and automation initiatives.

What do we want from you?

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Information Management, or a related field.

Professional experience in business analysis, data reconciliation, reporting, or operational processes within the financial services industry.

Understanding of securities processing, custody services, and financial data flows.

Experience collaborating with business stakeholders and IT development teams.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.

Advanced Excel skills; SQL knowledge is considered an advantage.

Knowledge of tax reporting and/or Qualified Intermediary (QI) reporting is a plus.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills in English; additional languages are beneficial.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Reliable team player who performs well under pressure and contributes to a collaborative work environment.
