Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering to guide customers in designing and optimizing production-grade data workloads on the Databricks Platform. You will translate complex challenges into scalable architectures using Spark and streaming tech, while partnering with account teams to drive adoption.

You will lead end-to-end designs, PoCs, and workload sizing, mentor peers, and deliver technical workshops, with up to 30% travel for customer engagements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data or software engineering with Spark, Delta Lake, and real-time streaming.
• AI-first mindset with daily use of AI coding tools and LLMs.
• Production coding in Python, SQL, and Scala/Java; strong data modeling fundamentals.
• 5+ years in pre-sales or post-sales technical consulting.
• Experience with operational/HTAP architectures (Postgres/OLTP, low-latency, reverse ETL).

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical design, PoCs, and workload sizing for strategic engagements.
• Architect scalable production data systems and real-time pipelines.
• Deploy interactive data applications using Databricks Apps.
• Apply AI coding tools to prototype, debug, and deliver assets.
• Mentor peers and run workshops to scale expertise across teams.
