Job summary

Avantor is seeking a dedicated Cleanroom Assembler to support manufacturing of single-use assemblies in a controlled environment in Hillegom, Netherlands. You will build, clean, and package components per EPRs and SOPs, while wearing PPE and adhering to strict contamination controls to ensure quality and on-time delivery.

You will follow ISO 7 cleanroom standards, participate in 6S and quality systems, and help drive continuous improvement, problem-solving, and adherence to site protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School completion or equivalent (GED).
  • 0-2 years in production in a cleanroom environment preferred.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Build, clean, and package various Single-Use assemblies per EPR, drawings and SOPs.
  • Wear PPE and report near misses and first aid events.
  • Follow cleanroom protocols and cGMPs to maintain ISO Class 7 environment.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and change control procedures.
  • Escalate deviations to prevent scrap or rework.
  • Maintain 6S and cleanliness of work areas.
  • Assist with inventory accuracy and proper bagging with traceability.
  • Work within ISO 9001:2015 quality guidelines.
  • Meet internal schedules and complete work orders on time.
  • Sign off EPRs for each operation and ensure assemblies are completed on time.
  • Adopt a 'build it right the first time' mentality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

The Opportunity: Carries out day-to-day cleanroom tasks by adhering to a defined set of procedures and standard outputs to maintain the integrity of the controlled environment. Tasks include fabrication, assembly or testing in the production of electrical, mechanical, or other components/devices manufactured or assembled in a cleanroom environment. Communicates with colleagues within the cleanroom operations area to exchange information, providing necessary explanations or interpretations to ensure clarity and adherence to protocols. Maintains strict compliance with contamination control measures, safety standards, and operational guidelines to support overall operational integrity. Addresses recurring issues using clearly prescribed solutions, while more complex challenges are resolved by applying knowledge gained through experience or seeking available support.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (List in order of importance)
  • Responsible for building, cleaning, and packaging of various Single-Use assemblies per Engineering Process Records (EPR), drawings, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE’s) and report all near miss and first aid events.
  • Responsible for following cleanroom protocols and cGMPs in order to maintain ISO Class 7 environment.
  • Be an activate participant in the continuous improvement process and follow appropriate change control procedures.
  • Escalate potential process and/or product deviations to prevent scrap, rework, and customer returns.
  • Daily organization (6S) and cleanliness of work area and common areas.
  • Assist with the inventory accuracy by properly returning unused parts and components to stock in sealed bags with part number and lot traceability.
  • Participate and work within ISO 9001:2015 quality standards guidelines in all manufacturing areas in accordance with company quality goals.
  • Meet internal manufacturing schedules which drive on-time delivery.
  • Complete and sign-off EPRs for each operation completed during the assembly.
  • Complete assemblies within the allotted time stated on the work order.
  • Instill a “build it right the first time” mentality.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)

Minumum Qualifications:

  • High School completion or equivalent (GED) 0-2 years equivalent experience in production in a cleanroom environment
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a cleanroom environment
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality
  • Ability to be trained on and adhere to all cleanroom protocols

  • Must be able to lift 50lbs minimum
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel
