Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Claims Investigator to join our client’s team. This hybrid role involves fieldwork and office analysis to verify insurance claim facts, gather evidence, conduct interviews, and prepare comprehensive reports that guide claim decisions.

Minimum 3 years of related experience, solid knowledge of insurance principles, and strong interviewing and writing skills are required. A valid driver’s license and ability to travel for investigations are essential.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful Claims Investigator to join their team in Welkom . In this role, you will be responsible for thoroughly investigating insurance claims to determine their validity and ensure compliance with policy terms and conditions. You will gather evidence, interview relevant parties, and prepare detailed reports to support claim decisions. This hybrid position allows for flexibility, combining fieldwork with office-based analysis, and is key to upholding the integrity of the claims process for our client in the Free State .

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive investigations into submitted insurance claims to verify facts and assess liability.
• Gather and analyze evidence, including accident reports, witness statements, and medical records.
• Interview claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties to obtain detailed information.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports outlining findings, conclusions, and recommendations.
• Identify and report any instances of suspected fraud or misrepresentation.
• Collaborate with claims adjusters and legal counsel on complex or contested claims.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in claims investigation or a related field (e.g., law enforcement, loss adjusting).
• Strong understanding of insurance principles and practices.
• Excellent interviewing, observational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and travel as required for investigations.
• Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are essential.
