Job summary

At INDG | Grip in Amsterdam, we're looking for a 3D Art Director to lead creative ownership across high-end CGI stills, animations, and interactive experiences. You will collaborate closely with teams to ensure projects are conceptually visual and aligned with client objectives.

The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in art direction, with a strong background in CGI. This is a remote-friendly role, allowing flexibility while fostering collaboration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in an art direction role, ideally within CGI or agency environments.
• Strong background in CGI art direction with understanding of 3D pipelines.
• Proven ability to lead creative teams and maintain high quality under tight timelines.

CGIexpertiseisessential.Youwillbeexpectedtodirectvirtualshootsandexperiencesbothcreativelyandtechnically,withastrongunderstandingoflighting,composition,materials,andreal‑worldproductrepresentation.

What You’ll Do

• Ownthecreativevisionandexecutionqualityacrossmultipleprojects,fromconcepttofinaldelivery.
• Interpretclientbriefsandtranslatebusinessandbrandobjectivesintoclearcreativedirection.
• Developandcommunicateconceptsusingpitchdecks,styleproposals,moodboards,storyboards,sketches,andvisualreferences.
• DirectCGIteamsoncomposition,lighting,materials,camera,andoveralllook&feel.
• Ensurevisualconsistency,realism,andbrandalignmentacrossstills,animations,andinteractiveoutputs.
• PerformongoingcreativeQA,reviewingrendersandanimations,providingclearfeedback,andhelpingteamstroubleshootscenestoreachthedesiredquality.
• CollaboratecloselywithProjectManagers/Producerstoaligncreativeambitionwithscope,timelines,andproductionrealities.
• Actasacreativepartnerinclientconversations.Presenting,defending,andevolvingconceptswithconfidence.
• Stayuptodatewithcontemporarydesign,digitalvisualisation,CGI,andreal‑time/AI‑drivenproductiontrendsandworkflows.
• LeadandinspireinternationalteamsofexperiencedCGIartists,fosteringquality,ownership,andcollaboration.

• 5+yearsofexperienceinanartdirectionrole,ideallywithinCGI,oragencyenvironments.
• StrongbackgroundinCGIartdirection,withhands‑onunderstandingof3Dpipelines,virtualproduction,anddigitallighting.
• Provenabilitytoleadcreativeteamsandmaintainhighqualityundertighttimelines.
• Excellenteyefordetail,composition,andrealism-supportedbyastrongportfolioorreel.
• Experienceworkingdirectlywithbrandsandstakeholders,withconfidenceinpresentingandexplainingcreativedecisions.
• Comfortablebalancingcreativeambitionwithproductionconstraints,milestones,anddeliverypressure.
