Job summary

Renewi is seeking a Category Buyer Transportation to own a €110 million transportation portfolio. Location is flexible—Netherlands or Belgium—with Amersfoort as a weekly anchor.

You will shape sourcing strategies, lead contracts, and drive supplier performance to support one of the largest transport fleets in the Benelux. You will collaborate with operational stakeholders across Belgium and the Netherlands to optimise costs, push sustainable transport solutions and manage supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• Several years of procurement experience within transportation, logistics, fleet.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier management.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach.
• Experience in complex stakeholder environments; able to influence without direct authority.
• Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus.

At Renewi, we are looking for a Buyer Transportation to take ownership of a transportation portfolio with an annual spend of approximately €110 million. In this role, you will help shape and execute sourcing strategies, drive supplier performance and support the transformation of one of the largest transport fleets in the Benelux.

Your role

As Buyer Transportation, you are responsible for a strategic category that directly impacts our operational performance, service levels and cost base.

You will work closely with operational stakeholders, suppliers and procurement colleagues across Belgium and the Netherlands to identify opportunities, implement improvements and create sustainable value.

You report to the Category Manager Logistics and are part of the wider Group Procurement team.

What do you bring?

You are commercially minded, analytical and capable of building strong relationships across different levels of the organisation. You understand how procurement creates business value and know how to balance stakeholder interests with commercial outcomes.

• Several years of procurement experience within transportation, logistics, fleet.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and supplier management.
• Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
• Experience working in complex stakeholder environments with the ability to influence without direct authority.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding transport operations and capacity planning is considered a strong advantage.
• Experience with transport management and/or procurement systems (e.g. Transporeon or similar platforms).
• Fluency in Dutch and English; French is a plus.
