Job summary

Robin Radar is seeking a Software Developer to design, build, and maintain high‑quality C++ software for cutting-edge radar products. You will work within an agile I&D software engineering team reporting to the team lead, contributing to reliable, scalable software across Linux environments.

The role emphasizes real-time systems, networking with other departments, and a strong focus on software lifecycle, testing, and CI/CD. English communication is essential; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• BA/MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• 5+ years' experience as a C++ Software Developer with C++17/20 knowledge.
• Extensive experience developing and deploying software on Linux.
• Knowledge of multithreaded code, real-time environments and Qt.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL databases, JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with low-level hardware interactions.
• Ability to develop unit tests using GoogleTest.
• Experience with Bitbucket or similar version control systems, Jira and Qt Creator.
• Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and continuous integration (Jenkins).
• Experience with Agile/Scrum.
• Good communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.

The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to directly work on our software development and will be able to build, adapt, and modify the software of our radar products. To put it in simple terms, they will develop mind blowing radar tech!

Not only that, but you will be part of an amazing growing and Agile I&D Software Engineering Team, reporting directly to the team lead, who is there to support and guide you.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++ code.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
• Working with other departments on technical issues including software system design and maintenance.
• Analyzing information to recommend and plan the installation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
• Consulting with engineering staff to evaluate software hardware interfaces and develop specifications and performance requirements.
• Give direction to software programming and documentation development.

Requirements

• BA/MSc degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience as a C++ Software Developer and with current knowledge of (advanced) C++ 17/20 standards.
• Extensive experience in developing and deploying software on Linux.
• Knowledge of multithreaded code, real-time environments and Qt.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL databases, JSON and XML.
• Familiarity with low-level hardware interactions.
• Ability to develop unit tests of code components using GoogleTest.
• Experience with Bitbucket or similar version control systems, Jira and Qt Creator.
• Strong understanding of the software development life-cycle and familiarity with continuous integration (Jenkins).
• Experience with development methodologies like Agile/Scrum.
• Good communication skills in English, Dutch is a plus.

Nice to Have

• Experience with radar systems or a similar industry.
• Experience with embedded systems design.
