We are seeking an experienced C++ engineer to join a global trading company. This organisation uses cutting-edge technology to solve some of the most complex problems in modern financial markets - from optimising scarce bandwidth and reacting to market events in nanoseconds, to pricing large sets of financial instruments with extremely low error tolerance and analysing vast volumes of real-time data.

User interfaces are built to deliver coherent, responsive, real-time visualisations of market activity and system performance, while providing intuitive control over highly complex systems.

Core Software Engineers focus on the infrastructural and strategic layers of the software ecosystem, ensuring that the foundations are stable, performant, and trusted - enabling innovation across the wider technology and trading landscape.

What you'll do

The systems you build and maintain are central to everything happening in the trading domain. Technology and Trading teams work closely together to explore new ideas, define technical direction, and continuously improve the platform.

As part of the Core Software team, you will:

• Build and maintain the robust software backbone the business relies on every day
• Define and evolve the technical environment that enables trading-focused development teams to innovate
• Solve complex problems in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment
• Be challenged not only on technical depth, but on your ability to deliver simple, elegant, and reliable solutions

Who You Are

• A software engineer with a strong passion for writing clean, correct and maintainable code
• Interested in architectural and strategic problem-solving, with a pragmatic mindset focused on delivery
• 4+ years of professional experience (prior finance experience is not required)
• Solid computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, memory and concurrency models, CPU architecture, operating systems, and relational databases
• Strong experience with C++ and Linux, or a clear willingness and ability to learn quickly on the job
• Comfortable picking up new languages and technologies - in addition to C++, the environment includes Python, C#, and others
• Open to both junior and senior engineers with strong fundamentals and a desire to grow
