Job summary

Fooditive seeks a commercially minded Business Development & Project Support Intern to join our Rotterdam team. You will assist in researching opportunities, preparing meetings, and tracking project actions within a small, international food biotech company.

You'll gain hands-on experience in B2B partnerships, market development and product commercialization while working 32 hours per week on-site. Start date is as soon as possible for a 6‑month period with a monthly €550 allowance.

Qualifications

  • Currently studying or recently completed a degree in a related field such as Business, Marketing or Economics.
  • Strong research, writing and English communication skills.
  • Ability to organize information across several projects.
  • Proactive, detail‑oriented and eager to learn.
  • Eligible to intern in the Netherlands (EU/EEA or valid permit).

Responsibilities

  • Research potential customers, strategic partners, manufacturers and market opportunities.
  • Prepare company, market and competitor research ahead of commercial discussions.
  • Support the preparation of presentations, partner materials, business cases and concise commercial briefs.
  • Maintain commercial opportunity and project trackers, including owners, deadlines and next steps.
  • Prepare meeting agendas, notes, action lists and follow‑up summaries.
  • Support the tracking of open actions with customers and partners.
  • Keep CRM and stakeholder information structured and up to date.
  • Assist with commercial proposals, opportunity assessments and market‑entry research.
  • Support project coordination and help ensure agreed actions and milestones are followed up.

Business Development & Project Support Intern

A hands‑on internship supporting commercial projects, partner follow‑up and market development.

Location: Rotterdam, The Netherlands

Working arrangement: On‑site internship at Fooditive’s Rotterdam office

Hours: 32 hours per week

Duration: 6 months

Start date: As soon as possible

Allowance: €550 per month

About the internship

We are looking for a commercially minded and highly organised intern to support our business development and project activities. Under the guidance of Fooditive’s management team, you will research commercial opportunities, prepare meetings, organise project information and support the follow‑up of agreed actions. You will gain practical exposure to B2B partnerships, market development and the commercialisation of food biotechnology.

Main responsibilities
  • Research potential customers, strategic partners, manufacturers and market opportunities.

What we are looking for
  • You are currently studying or have recently completed a degree in Business, International Business, Entrepreneurship, Strategy, Marketing, Economics, Food Business, Innovation Management or a related field.
  • Strong research, writing and communication skills in English.
  • Ability to organise information and work across several projects.
  • Confidence using Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to turn complex or extensive information into clear, useful summaries.
  • Good attention to detail and a structured approach to project follow‑up.
  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn, ask questions and collaborate with internal and external teams.
  • Legally eligible to undertake an internship in the Netherlands as an EU, EEA or through a valid permit.
  • Currently residing in the Netherlands and available to work on‑site at Fooditive’s Rotterdam office.
  • Considered a plus: Experience using CRM or project‑management tools.
  • Previous exposure to business development, commercial research or project coordination.
  • Interest in food technology, biotechnology or sustainable food production.
