AQUABATTERY, a climate-tech startup based in the Netherlands, is seeking a Business Development Analyst to turn market research and data into actionable insights for the commercial team. You will report to the CCO and help shape go-to-market strategy while supporting deals.

The role blends analytics with customer-facing opportunities, requiring strong quant skills, experience with Python/Excel, and fluency in English and Dutch.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of work experience, ideally in consulting or a similar business development analyst role.
• Minimum master’s degree with a technical or strongly quantitative academic background.
• Strong quantitative and modelling skills, with the ability to turn messy data into clear, actionable insights; Python, Excel or other analytical tools.
• Detail oriented and accurate in analysis execution, with the ability to zoom out to understand the bigger picture.
• Good communication skills to translate complex insights into digestible messages internally and externally.
• Commercially savvy with an interest in the energy transition.
• Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment — hands-on and adaptable.
• Excellent command of English and Dutch languages.

Responsibilities

• Lead market research and segmentation analysis to identify priority segments and early-market opportunities.
• Build and maintain business development models—pipeline, pricing scenarios and business cases.
• Deliver customer use case analyses and improve the delivery process.
• Own CRM, sales operations and pipeline reporting; keep data clean and dashboards current.
• Provide analytical support across strategy, competitive intelligence and market intelligence.
• Translate technical insights for the commercial team and external partners.
• Support day-to-day commercial operations and partner negotiations.
