Job description

At a glance

At ABN AMRO, our strategy is to be a personal bank in the digital age. We provide a fully digital banking experience while maintaining strong personal relationships with our clients. Reliable, high-quality credit data is essential to making informed lending decisions and supporting our customers when it matters most. We are looking for a highly motivated and solution-oriented Business Developer to join the Credits Data Domain Store (CDDS) department within Financing Solutions. Within CDDS, the Task Force team acts as the operational backbone of the department, supporting all other CDDS teams in maintaining stable, reliable, and efficient credits data. In this role, you will work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. You will investigate production issues, support releases, analyze incidents, resolve real-time data problems, and help prevent future disruptions. You will combine analytical thinking, business understanding, technical knowledge, and stakeholder management skills to ensure the continuity and quality of critical credit data services across the bank.

Your job

As a Business Developer within the CDDS Task Force team, you will be responsible for identifying, analyzing, coordinating, and resolving complex operational and data-related challenges. You thrive on investigating unknown situations, asking the right questions, and driving structural improvements that strengthen our services and data products. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the daily operations of all CDDS teams by coordinating and resolving production incidents, data issues, and platform disruptions.
  • Investigating complex production problems and performing root cause analyses to identify sustainable long-term solutions.
  • Monitoring and managing real-time issues, ensuring timely resolution while minimizing impact on data consumers and business processes.
  • Coordinating production releases and deployment activities, ensuring smooth implementation and successful delivery.
  • Working closely with data engineers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders to diagnose issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Taking ownership of escalations, managing stakeholder expectations, and providing clear and timely communication during incidents.
  • Challenging existing processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and proposing structural enhancements to increase platform stability and efficiency.
  • Analyzing the impact of incidents and changes across the credit data landscape while considering long-term business and technical consequences.
  • Supporting testing activities, validation, and release readiness to ensure high-quality data products and services.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen operational excellence, resilience, and customer satisfaction.
  • Supporting the lifecycle management of CDDS data products, including analyzing the impact of source system changes, updating mappings and transformations, coordinating decommissioning activities, and ensuring data products remain accurate, compliant, and fit for purpose.

By contributing to these activities, you will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, continuity, and future development of ABN AMRO’s credit data landscape.

Working environment

The CDDS plays a central role in delivering high-quality credit data across the bank. CDDS enables a wide range of business processes, regulatory reporting activities, analytics solutions, and lending decisions by ensuring that critical credit data is available, accurate, and consistent. The Task Force team operates across all CDDS teams and serves as a central support and coordination team. We assist other teams with production incidents, operational challenges, release support, defect resolution, and continuous improvements. Because of this unique position, the team has broad visibility across the entire credit data landscape and collaborates with a diverse stakeholder network throughout the organization. We operate in a dynamic and challenging environment where priorities can change quickly and new issues may emerge unexpectedly. Success requires curiosity, resilience, teamwork, and a proactive mindset. We encourage individuals to explore, challenge assumptions, learn continuously, and take ownership of outcomes. Our team consists of experienced professionals with diverse backgrounds who enjoy solving complex problems together. We value collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation while maintaining a supportive and enjoyable working atmosphere. We work in an international environment with English as our primary working language and follow a hybrid working model with regular collaboration at our Amsterdam headquarters.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who enjoys solving complex problems, remains calm under pressure, and is energized by working in a fast-moving environment where every challenge can be different. Your qualifications should include:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a natural curiosity to investigate issues until the root cause is identified.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities, incidents, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience with incident management, production support, operational processes, or data-related environments.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability with a proven ability to drive issues through to resolution.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams.
  • Ability to ask critical questions, challenge existing approaches, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Understanding of data flows, data models, and system integrations within complex IT landscapes.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis techniques.
  • Familiarity with testing processes, release management, and change implementation activities.
  • Ability to assess the wider impact of decisions and consider both short-term resolutions and long-term sustainability.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and a positive attitude in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Experience within banking, lending, credit data, or financial services is considered an advantage.
