Job description

At a glance

At ABN AMRO, we're building the future of lending through data. As we continue our journey to become a personal bank in the digital age, high-quality credit and collateral data is more important than ever. It powers lending decisions, strengthens risk management, supports regulatory compliance, and enables innovation across the bank.

We're looking for aMedior Data Analyst / Data Modeler to join the Credits Data Domain Store (CDDS) within Financing Solutions. This is an opportunity to work on some of the bank's most strategic data initiatives and play a key role in shaping the Credit & Collateral Data Products that enable smarter lending decisions, stronger risk management, and sustainable growth across the bank.

If you enjoy solving complex data challenges, influencing business change, and working with stakeholders across business and technology, this role offers the ownership, visibility, and impact you're looking for.

Your job

As a Medior Data Analyst / Data Modeler, you will be at the heart of ABN AMRO's credit data landscape. You won't simply gather requirements or create models; you'll help drive strategic change by turning business ambitions into trusted data products that enable better decisions throughout the bank.

You will:

  • Take ownership of high-impact data initiatives within the Credit & Collateral domain.
  • Translate business challenges into scalable, future-proof data solutions.
  • Work on strategic programs such as Definition of Default (DoD), Significant Risk Transfer (SRT), Early Warning Models (EWM), and NextGen Lending.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and risk specialists to deliver business value through data.
  • Analyse complex datasets, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive data quality enhancements.
  • Shape and maintain the Credits Business Data Model (CBDM), ensuring consistency, traceability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support the development of advanced analytics and AI use cases by providing reliable and well-governed credit data.
  • Lead initiatives from idea to implementation, including analysis, design, testing, and release activities.

You will have the autonomy to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously while helping define how Credit & Collateral Data Products evolve within ABN AMRO.

Working environment

You will join the Credits Data Domain Store, a team with a clear mission: creating trusted Credit & Collateral Data Products that support lending, risk management, regulatory reporting, and capital optimisation across the bank.

Our environment combines the pace of a large-scale digital transformation with the complexity of a highly regulated banking domain. You will collaborate with professionals from Financing Solutions, Risk, Data Engineering, Architecture, Analytics, and AI.

What makes this role particularly exciting is the combination of:

  • Strategic visibility across the bank.
  • Direct impact on key lending and risk processes.
  • Exposure to senior stakeholders and decision makers.
  • A modern data environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Opportunities to deepen both your banking expertise and your technical data skills.

You'll be part of a team that values ownership, curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to challenge the status quo.

Your profile

You are an analytical professional who enjoys connecting business objectives with data-driven solutions. You understand that data is not the goal itself, but a powerful enabler for better decisions and better customer outcomes.

We're looking for someone who brings:

Professional Experience

  • 3-7 years of experience in Data Analysis, Business Analysis, Data Modelling, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within banking, lending, risk management, or another complex financial environment.
  • Strong SQL skills and the ability to independently analyse large datasets.
  • Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
  • Understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data quality management.
  • Experience with testing, implementation, and release activities.
  • Familiarity with Databricks, JSON, and modern data platforms is a strong advantage.

Banking & Credit Expertise

  • Strong understanding of lending processes and credit risk management.
  • Knowledge of Credit & Collateral products and their lifecycle.
  • Understanding of how data supports regulatory reporting, risk monitoring, and business decision-making.
  • Experience working in complex stakeholder environments where business and technology come together.

Personal Skills

  • You take ownership and enjoy driving topics from idea to delivery.
  • You can easily switch between strategic discussions and detailed analysis.
  • You are comfortable challenging assumptions and asking the right questions.
  • You communicate effectively with both technical specialists and senior business stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve and continuous improvement is part of the culture.
  • You are naturally curious and motivated to make a measurable impact.

We are offering

We know that great work starts with having the right balance, opportunities, and freedom to grow. In this role, you'll work on challenges that really matter, help keep critical banking services running smoothly, and continue building your expertise along the way. On top of that, you can count on:

  • A competitive monthly salary based on a 36-hour work week, including holiday pay and a flexible benefits budget.
