Technical Business Analyst – Agentic AI Platforms
Role Summary
As a Technical Business Analyst, you will bridge business objectives and technical delivery for enterprise agentic AI solutions. You will translate business needs into clear, testable requirements and ensure identity, platform, security, risk, and operational considerations are addressed from discovery through implementation.
Key Responsibilities
Elicit, analyse, challenge, and document business, functional, and non-functional requirements for agentic AI use cases.
Translate business outcomes into agent capabilities and constraints, user journeys, process flows, and measurable acceptance criteria.
Facilitate discussions with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, engineers, security specialists, and platform teams.
Assess how AI agents will interact with enterprise systems, APIs, data sources, tools, and business processes.
Capture and validate requirements for authentication, authorization, identity, RBAC, SSO, federation, and service access.
Identify security, privacy, compliance, audit, logging, data protection, and secrets management implications early in solution design.
Evaluate dependencies, assumptions, constraints, gaps, risks, and operational impacts, maintaining end-to-end requirements traceability.
Support architectural and delivery discussions concerning containerized applications, Kubernetes, scalability, availability, configuration, and deployment.
Required Technical Knowledge
Agentic AI: Conceptual understanding of traditional AI, Generative AI, copilots, chatbots, AI agents, agent runtimes and orchestration, tool calling, memory and context management, planning and reasoning, multi-agent systems, and human-in-the-loop patterns.
Identity and access: Solid understanding of authentication versus authorization, identity management, user and service identities, managed and application identities, external or federated identities, RBAC, group-based authorization, SSO, and federation.
Platforms: High-level understanding of containerization, containers versus virtual machines, images, registries, runtime environments, orchestration, and Kubernetes capabilities such as deployments, scaling, high availability, service discovery, configuration, and secrets.
Security and risk: Awareness of security by design, secure handling of sensitive and confidential data, IAM, data protection, secrets management, network security, audit and logging, common security anti-patterns, and financial-services regulatory expectations.
Requirements: Strong requirements engineering and user journey mapping skills. You can define functional and non-functional requirements for security, performance, availability, scalability, and compliance, expressed as measurable acceptance criteria.
Business Analysis Capabilities
Convert complex business objectives into structured, actionable, and testable requirements.
Create clear user journeys and process flows connecting people, systems, data, and technical capabilities.
Communicate technical concepts in business language and express business intent in terms useful to engineering teams.
Challenge ambiguity, surface hidden assumptions, and resolve conflicting requirements through critical thinking.
Maintain traceability from business need through requirements, acceptance criteria, delivery, and validation.
Recognize when specialist input is needed and proactively engage architecture, security, risk, compliance, and platform stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrable experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, or in a similar role delivering complex enterprise technology.
Experience working across business and technical teams in agile or hybrid delivery environments.
Proven ability to define functional requirements and measurable non-functional acceptance criteria.
Experience with AI, cloud platforms, APIs, IAM, security, or containerized environments is strongly preferred.
Experience in banking, financial services, or another highly regulated environment is advantageous.
Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Stakeholder Collaboration
You will act as a trusted bridge between business owners and technical specialists. You are expected to participate confidently in solution discussions, ask effective challenge questions, make risks and trade-offs visible, and build shared understanding without needing to be the solution architect or hands-on engineer.
Success Profile
You will convert business intent into implementable, traceable requirements; clarify agent capabilities and limitations; make access and security controls explicit; and ensure non-functional expectations are measurable. Your work will help delivery teams move forward with fewer ambiguities, gaps, and late-stage surprises.
