Job summary

The City of Warrensburg is seeking a Building Official to lead development services, building code administration, and inspection functions. The role reports to the Director of Community Development and requires strong customer service and collaboration across departments.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least five years of experience in building construction, plan review, and code enforcement, with a proven ability to solve problems and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in building code interpretation, administration and enforcement, plan review, and providing development services in a one-stop shop environment.
• An understanding of economic development and a development review process that focuses on delivering quality customer service.
• Outstanding customer service skills and excellent written and oral communication, good organizational skills and problem-solving.
• Experience supervising and providing field training for direct reports.
