Job summary

MSD Animal Health in Boxmeer/De Bilt seeks an EHS Biosafety Officer to lead biosafety programs, assess risks from biological agents and GMO activities, and ensure compliance across R&D and manufacturing. You will help design containment, support audits, and drive continuous safety improvements.

The role requires a biology or safety background, strong communication in English (Dutch preferred), and the ability to implement corrective actions with urgency across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in microbiology/biotechnology or related field.
• Experience managing risks with biological agents and GMO-related activities.
• Ability to analyze data, interpret results and recommend action.

Responsibilities

• Subject Matter Expert for Biosafety program at the site.
• Identify and assess biosafety risks and implement CAPAs.
• Monitor status of improvement plans and communicate results.
• Collaborate with EHS, Engineering, Operations and R&D to apply best practices.
• Maintain up-to-date biosafety knowledge and regulatory requirements.
• Provide support for biocontainment facility design and audits.
• Develop and contribute to biosafety training programs.
