myTomorrows is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and maintain scalable backend systems powering our health tech platform. You will collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and other stakeholders to build reliable services, APIs, and data layer access.

Most of the team is based in the Netherlands, with preference for candidates living within commuting distance to Amsterdam. You will work with Python, FastAPI, Pydantic, and SQLAlchemy in a cloud-native setup, using Docker and Kubernetes, and you will

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend engineering experience.
• Proficient in Python and modern backend frameworks.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP).
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable backend systems and infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain micro-services exposed to internal and external clients.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enable CI/CD and deployment.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Iterate on platform architecture and functionality with teams.
• Maintain documentation of systems and processes.
• Mentor junior backend engineers.
• Keep up-to-date with latest trends and technologies.
