Job summary

Netventis in Amsterdam is seeking a Back End Developer to design, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs for our conference platform and internal tools.

You will implement scalable features, integrate third-party services, and optimize database performance while collaborating with product, event operations, and frontend teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development for building and maintaining server-side applications.
• Proficiency in Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and general Programming concepts for designing clean, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Basic familiarity with Front-End Development to collaborate effectively with UI/UX and front-end engineers.
• Experience with one or more back-end languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, C#, Node.js, Python, Ruby, or similar), and RESTful API design.
• Knowledge of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, queries, and performance tuning.
• Understanding of security best practices, testing methodologies, and version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Ability to work on-site in Amsterdam, collaborate in cross-functional teams, and communicate clearly in English.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; experience in event-tech or SaaS environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain server-side applications and APIs for Netventis’ conference platform and internal tools.
• Implement scalable and secure features and integrate third-party services.
• Optimize database and application performance and troubleshoot issues.
• Collaborate with product, event operations, and front-end teams to translate business requirements into robust solutions.
• Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of development workflow.
