Job summary

TNO is seeking an Azure Cloud & Virtualisation Engineer to maintain Windows and virtualisation environments and migrate workloads to Azure. You will design Azure solutions, build landing zones, and automate deployments using IaC tools while supporting VMware.

The role sits in a hybrid Agile team focused on secure, compliant IT services. You will collaborate with Solution Architects and drive improvements in platform maturity, security, and governance, with a strong emphasis on ITIL 4 processes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ICT/CS or related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in infrastructure, virtualization, and cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience managing VMware ESXi and Azure-based infrastructures.
• Experience in Agile teams and ITIL 4.
• Willingness to work outside standard office hours.
• Proficient Dutch and English communication.
• Valid Category B driving license.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure cloud environments.
• Configure landing zones within Microsoft Azure.
• Automate deployments using IaC via ARM, PowerShell, Bicep and Terraform.
• Manage VMware virtualization platforms.
• Install and support hardware, system software, and apps for VMware infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure incidents.
• Manage changes to system configurations.
• Advise stakeholders on change urgency and impact.
• Conduct root cause analyses for complex incidents and problems.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects to implement and maintain tooling and documentation.
• Develop initiatives to improve IT services quality.
• Monitor platform capacity, performance, availability, and security.
• Manage vendor relationships.
• Report on ISO 27001 compliance and controls.
