Job summary

ABN AMRO Bank N.V. in Amsterdam is seeking an experienced IT Platform Engineer to design, build and operate secure and scalable Azure platform capabilities for Innovation initiatives.

You will own production, collaborate with Innovation Managers, architects and security specialists, and guide teams through trade-offs and best practices. The role emphasizes hands-on containerised workloads, AKS, Terraform and Bicep, plus CI/CD automation and cloud networking.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of platform/cloud/DevOps/infrastructure engineering experience with hands-on Azure infrastructure and containerised workloads in production
• Strong practical experience with AKS and at least one of Azure Container Apps or Azure App Service
• Solid understanding of IAM, cloud networking, private connectivity, DNS, certificates and secrets management
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code with Bicep and Terraform
• Experience automating development, security and operations via CI/CD, preferably Azure DevOps, with appropriate quality and security controls

Responsibilities

• Platform engineering and production ownership: design, build, maintain and operate complex Azure capabilities for Innovation initiatives
• Act as SME for cloud/platform engineering challenges, presenting solutions and supporting decisions
• Implement security, risk, compliance and non-functional requirements in solutions
• Improve availability, performance, observability, supportability and cost-effectiveness of services; participate in incident management
• Automate provisioning, deployment, testing and operations via IaC, CI/CD pipelines and scripting
• Coordinate dependencies, communicate progress and constraints, elevate risks or decisions
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industrialise viable outcomes into production capabilities
