Job summary

TNO in Leiden and The Hague offers a Virtualisation Engineer role in a hybrid setup. You will design and manage Azure and VMware environments, migrate workloads to Azure, and contribute to platform maturity.

The team operates ITIL 4 processes in an Agile environment, with potential to work 32–40 hours per week and occasional out-of-hours support. The position emphasizes collaboration across Solution Architects and ICT Infrastructure, focusing on secure, scalable IT services and driving

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ICT, computer science or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of infrastructure, virtualization and cloud experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with VMware ESXi and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in Agile teams and ITIL 4 principles.
• Willingness to work outside standard office hours.
• Fluent Dutch and English communication.
• Valid Category B driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Azure cloud environments.
• Configure landing zones in Azure.
• Automate deployments with IaC (ARM, PowerShell, Bicep, Terraform).
• Maintain VMware virtualization platforms.
• Troubleshoot incidents and manage changes.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects and improve IT services.
• Monitor capacity, performance, security, and compliance.
