Job summary

Brink Group in Staphorst, the Netherlands, is seeking an Automotive Quality Engineer who ensures products and processes meet customer requirements, regulatory standards and automotive quality demands. You will drive quality activities from development through production, using IATF 16949, VDA and core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plans) to translate customer needs into robust processes.

You will be part of our QHSE team and collaborate with Engineering, Production, Logistics, Sales

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Automotive/Mechanical or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of IATF 16949 and automotive quality standards.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
  • Strong 8D, root-cause analysis and corrective action experience.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, VDA, customer and internal quality standards.
  • Lead quality activities in new product and process development and obtain customer approvals.
  • Provide quality input during planning, design reviews, and gate reviews.
  • Participate in DFM/DFMEA and ensure risk controls are in place.
  • Develop and review Control Plans, inspection requirements, MSA and SPC activities.
  • Act as primary quality contact for customers during projects and audits.
  • Lead 8D problem solving and verify effectiveness of actions.
  • Monitor complaints and quality trends, drive preventive actions.

Job description

At Brink, quality is built into every stage of our automotive manufacturing process. As a Quality Engineer, you make sure our products and processes meet customer-specific requirements, regulatory standards and demanding automotive quality requirements.

You work from product and process development through customer approval and series production. Using standards such as IATF 16949 and VDA, combined with Automotive Core Tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC and Control Plans, you turn customer requirements into robust quality processes. You are involved from project launch and process development to customer approval and start of production. You coordinate approvals, address quality concerns and lead the response when critical issues threaten customer production.

You are part of our QHSE organisation in Staphorst, a team of approximately 15 professionals, including three other Quality Engineers, and report to the Teamlead QES. In his position, you work closely with Engineering, Production Engineering, Production, Logistics, Sales and Purchasing, while maintaining direct contact with automotive customers.

Your responsibilities:
  • Ensuring compliance with IATF 16949, VDA, customer-specific requirements, regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
  • Leading Quality activities within new product and process development and preparing and coordinating documentation and obtaining customer approval within agreed timelines.
  • Providing Quality input during project planning, design reviews, process development and Gate Reviews.
  • Participating in Design and Process FMEAs and ensuring risks and appropriate controls are addressed.
  • Developing and reviewing Control Plans, inspection requirements, measurement systems, MSA and SPC activities.
  • Acting as the primary Quality contact for customers during projects and complaint handling and supporting customer visits, customer audits and certification audits;
  • Leading 8D problem solving, including containment, root-cause analysis, corrective actions and verification of effectiveness.
  • Monitoring complaints, quality trends and SPC data and translating these into preventive and corrective improvement actions.
  • Escalating risks that could affect customer approval, product conformity, timing, cost or customer production.
Your profile:

You understand the demands of automotive manufacturing and know that quality goes beyond checking the final product. You use standards, data and engineering knowledge to prevent issues before they reach the customer.

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, such as Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and practical experience with IATF 16949
  • Practical experience with APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC.
  • Strong experience with 8D, root-cause analysis and corrective action processes.
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications and customer documentation.
  • Experience with measurement and inspection techniques and statistical processes.
  • Experience working with automotive customers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Experience preparing and leading internal audits and supporting customer and certification audits;
  • Strong analytical, structured and problem-solving skills;
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • You take ownership, communicate clearly and remain effective when quality issues require quick and well-founded decisions.
