Job summary
MicroAlign, Eindhoven, is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to lead the transformation of its production line from manual to semi-automated and ultimately fully automated systems. You will drive throughput improvements, reduce cycle times, and empower operators through robust automation solutions.
Responsibilities include designing automated work cells, integrating drive systems, and developing PLC/motion programs and HMI interfaces.
Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering.
- 3–5 years in industrial automation with high-volume production.
- Proven track record delivering automation projects end-to-end.
Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of production lines from manual to semi-automated and fully automated.
- Design and implement semi-automated and fully automated work cells, including gantry systems and pick-and-place tooling.
- Develop PLC/motion controller programs and HMI interfaces.
- Define motion profiles, sequencing logic, and safety interlocks per CE/machine safety standards.
- Collaborate with suppliers and system integrators; execute FAT/SAT with full documentation.
- Monitor and improve OEE; train operators and maintenance personnel.
