Job summary

Destinus is seeking a hands‑on Lead Industrialization Engineer to guide a team bringing automation, robotics, and digital tooling into production and test lines in Hengelo. You will shape the systems that enable higher output with fewer manual steps and better data at every station.

You will drive selection and integration of automated equipment and PLC/robotic systems, connect floor data to MES and data pipelines, and collaborate with NPI, Design, and Validation teams to scale manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical field as listed.
• Proven experience in industrialization or manufacturing engineering in complex hardware.
• Experience specifying or programming automated equipment, robotics, or PLC-based systems.
• Understanding of how shop-floor equipment connects to MES/SCADA and data pipelines.
• Strong lean manufacturing knowledge and bottleneck management.

Responsibilities

• Lead industrialization activities and provide technical direction to engineers.
• Identify manual steps and lead design/rollout of automated solutions.
• Specify and integrate automated equipment, robotics, PLCs, and sensors for production and test cells.
• Own the architecture linking shop-floor equipment to MES and data pipelines.
• Drive production readiness of new products and engineering changes with cross-functional teams.
• Apply lean and Theory of Constraints to maximize value and throughput.
• Maintain routing documentation and station content for automated/manual steps.
• Collaborate with software, controls, and electrical engineering to deliver validated equipment.
• Use data to identify improvements and drive measurable gains in throughput and efficiency.
• Mentor engineers and build automation capability across the team.
• Coordinate with Production, Design, Data & Validation, Quality, and Supply Chain to stay on track.
