Job summary

FGS Global is seeking an Associate Global Public Affairs for our The Hague office. You will join a small team to work on diverse issues in politics, policy, media, and society, supporting clients with analyses, strategies, and stakeholder engagement.

You will collaborate with peers to monitor developments, map stakeholders, and craft communications across Dutch and English contexts, with German or French as a plus. A one-year contract with potential permanent placement is offered.

From our offices in the heart of The Hague and Amsterdam, we are building one of the strongest advisory practices in the market for a wide variety of clients on the most complex cases. We are rooted in the Dutch political and societal context, while simultaneously drawing on the global network and expertise of FGS Global.

For our The Hague office, we are seeking a driven Associate Global Public Affairs. Do you have an affinity for politics, public opinion, and policy? Do you want to help companies when it really matters, both nationally and internationally? Are you broadly interested, a true political junkie, eager to learn, and keen to work in a close-knit team on exciting projects? Then you have come to the right place.

What will you be doing?

As an Associate Global Public Affairs, you will work in teams of three to five people, with varying levels of experience and backgrounds. You will work on diverse issues in the fields of politics, policy, media, and society.

Your duties include:

  • monitoring and analyzing political and social developments;
  • mapping relevant stakeholders and networks;
  • conducting analyses and preparing advice for clients;
  • contributing to public affairs strategies, campaigns, and stakeholder approaches;
  • preparing for discussions, work visits, and meetings;
  • creating memos, presentations, and other communication materials;
  • supporting client teams with contacts with politicians, civil servants, the media, and other stakeholders;
  • building one's own network in politics, government, media, and business.

The topics you work on vary. One time it concerns infrastructure or energy, the next financial markets, technology, or geopolitics. As a result, you quickly gain a broad perspective on how politics, government, business, media, and society are interconnected.

What do you bring?

You are a true political junkie. You follow current events, are curious about what lies behind political developments, and want to understand how policy is made. To fit in well, you bring the following:

  • Analytical ability:you can quickly process a lot of information, distinguish between main and secondary points, and clearly explain complex subjects.
  • Planning and organizing:you enjoy bringing structure to various information flows and are good at organizing, for example, a work visit or meeting.
  • Initiative:you see what needs to be done and take action independently. Furthermore, you are curious about new topics and people.
  • Communication skills:you can write and present well in Dutch and English. German or French is a plus.
  • Flexibility:political developments cannot always be planned. You can switch gears quickly if necessary.
