Job summary

AKQA Amsterdam is looking for an Associate Design Director to shape how brands come to life through digital experiences. You blend design thinking with digital craft, turning ideas into interfaces, interactions and systems that feel intuitive and distinctly branded.

You will work closely with our Design Directors to raise the craft, lead teams, and explore AI-enhanced methods to advance the work and grow junior designers around you.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of UX and human-centered design.
• Ability to translate brand and user needs into interfaces.
• Strong prototyping and hands-on design craft.
• Experience leading design teams and mentoring juniors.

Responsibilities

• Lead the digital craft across digital products, services and experiences.
• Shape the experience by turning brand and user needs into usable interactions.
• Translate brand identity into interfaces, motion, and systems.
• Design by doing in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
• Collaborate with experience and service designers to improve the work.
• Mentor junior designers and raise the team's craft.
