Job summary

Leiden University in The Hague invites two Assistant Professors in Public Administration to join our Institute of Public Administration within FGGA. You will develop an individual research agenda, teach bachelor and master programmes, supervise theses, and build external funding collaborations.

We seek candidates with a PhD in related fields, a strong or promising research profile, and a commitment to international collaboration and societal impact.

Qualifications

• PhD in Public Administration, Public Management, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field.
• Strong teaching and research track record or potential in public administration.
• BKO or willingness to obtain within two years.
• Proficiency in English; willingness to master Dutch (C1) within two years.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and conduct independent research in public administration and governance.
• Teach bachelor and master courses in Public Administration.
• Supervise bachelor, master, and PhD theses.
• Apply for external research funding (e.g., NWO, ERC, Horizon Europe).
• Contribute to institute and inter-disciplinary collaboration and societal engagement.
• Engage in national and international research networks.
