Job summary

Leiden University’s Leiden Institute of Advanced Computer Science (LIACS) invites applications for an assistant professor position in Agentic AI. The role combines independent research in agentic AI with teaching across bachelor and master programs and supervision of students, within LIACS’ vibrant AI portfolio.

You will publish in international venues, write proposals for funding, and collaborate across disciplines and with external partners.

Qualifications

> A PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence or a closely related field.
> Experience as a postdoctoral researcher with independent research output.
> A strong publication record.
> Interdisciplinary and collaborative research experience.
> Excellent teaching and supervision skills.
> Excellent writing and presentation skills.
> Proficiency in Dutch (at least C1) and professional English.

Responsibilities

> Conduct and supervise original research in Agentic AI.
> Publish and present work at international journals and conferences.
> Write proposals to acquire research funding, also in interdisciplinary topics.
> Contribute to teaching in both the master and bachelor programs, including the Dutch informatics program.
> Supervise students in both the Human AI and the Machine Learning clusters, which together have a major share of BSc- and MSc supervisions in LIACS.
> Engage in collaboration with other researchers within and outside LIACS.
