Delft University of Technology is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor to strengthen resilience in critical infrastructures through research and education. You will teach, supervise and develop methods to analyze and design interventions for socio-technical systems, addressing societal challenges with system-thinking and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

You will contribute to education and research across systems engineering, modelling, and data analytics, while pursuing external funding

Formación

• We are looking for a collaborative and motivated academic who is passionate about teaching, supervision and research.
• You bring strong analytical and communication skills, enjoy working across disciplines, and can contribute to a team-oriented research environment while developing your own academic profile.
• You hold a Master’s degree and PhD in industrial engineering, systems engineering, systems analysis, environmental engineering or another methodologically relevant field.

Responsabilidades

• Teach and coordinate courses in core educational programmes, contributing to students’ knowledge of systems thinking, modelling and complex socio-technical challenges.
• Develop and apply methods to analyze, model and design interventions to address infrastructure resilience.
• Investigate socio-technical characteristics and cascading effects across vital societal functions.
• Publish your research and contribute to national and international collaborations.
• Acquire research funding and supervise PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers.
• Supervise Bachelor’s and Master’s students and contribute to educational programme development.
• Strengthen methodological expertise through mixed-methods research in areas like systems engineering, agent-based modelling and participatory design.
