Job summary

Red Hat Consulting Services in the Netherlands seeks an Architect to serve as a site-based SME on Red Hat infrastructure and cloud technology. You will guide architecture, design, testing, and deployment for customer environments and apply best practices across reliability, scalability, and availability.

The role emphasizes strong English/Dutch communication, travel readiness, and collaboration with a global consulting team to deliver cost-effective, enterprise-wide solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience and/or industry recognised certifications (RH certifications)
• 5+ years experience in a consulting role or similar
• Experience or knowledge of infrastructure and cloud technologies - e.g. enterprise use of virtualization or containers
• Foundational awareness of modern application development practices and the software delivery life cycle
• Good customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and guide customer interactions
• Knowledge of Red Hat infrastructure solutions like Satellite, Virtualization, Ansible Platform/OpenShift, or related tools (K8, Chef, Puppet)
• RHCA and/or RHCE certification, or willingness to gain this certification early in your Red Hat career
• Willingness to travel according to project needs
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch
• Dutch citizenship

Responsibilities

• Upskill knowledge in Red Hat technologies using Red Hat University and support from the consulting team
• Serve as a subject matter expert at the customer site, addressing technical, developmental, or strategic IT needs
• Manage problem identification, system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions
• Learn about new technologies and apply these concepts to customer needs

Job description

The Red Hat Consulting Services team is looking for an Architect to join us in the Netherlands. In this role, you will work at the customer site as a subject matter expert in Red Hat's infrastructure and cloud technology. You'll answer questions about best practices across topics such as reliability, scalability, maintainability, high availability, and failover setups, as well as lead the on-site delivery and implementation of Red Hat's technology. As an Architect, you will gain understanding of customer infrastructures and business issues and make recommendations appropriate to their environments. • Experience or knowledge of infrastructure and cloud technologies - e.g. enterprise use of virtualization or containers
• Foundational awareness of modern application development practices and the software delivery life cycle
• Good customer-facing skills; ability to present to customers and guide customer interactions
• Knowledge of one or more of Red Hat's infrastructure solutions like Red Hat Satellite, Red Hat Virtualization, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform or Red Hat Ansible Tower, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, or Red Hat OpenShift would be great - but we would also consider people with K8 / Chef / Puppet experience etc
• Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) certification is a plus, and/or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification, or the willingness to gain this certification in the early stages of your career with Red Hat
• Willingness to travel according to project needs
• Excellent communication skills in English and Dutch
• Dutch citizenship
