Job summary

Triodos Bank is seeking an Architect to define the future architecture that translates strategic ambitions into real-world impact. You will work within the value stream and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, with about 20% enterprise architecture responsibilities and 80% domain-focused work.

You will shape strategy, connect business and technology, oversee domain architectures, and guide teams to deliver aligned solutions while embedding security and governance across initiatives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Enterprise architect or as a Domain, Solution, or IT Architect.
• Ability to navigate between strategic vision, domain roadmaps, and engineering landscapes.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills with top-down and bottom-up insight translation.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, Product Managers and business stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptive mindset with interest in modern technology patterns and sustainable finance.

As an Architect, you will define the future architecture that turns Triodos’ strategic ambitions into real-world impact. You will work within the value stream, a dedicated, outcome-focused business unit, to which you are connected, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

How you will make a difference

You will help us to 'change finance to finance change', by defining the architecture future state that turns our strategic ambitions into real-world impact. Your role as an architect consists of approximately20% enterprise architecture responsibilitiesand80% responsibilities focused on a specific area of the bank to which you are assigned.

Day to day, you will:

• Shape the architectural strategy: collaborate as a key contributor within the Architecture team to define the target future state and shape our long-term architecture strategy.
• Bridge Business & Technology: define the domain’s future state within your value stream and guide engineering teams to achieve it, ensuring domain solutions align with overarching strategic goals.
• Evolve and safeguard the business domain architecture, including reference and target-state architectures, that aligns with corporate strategy and enterprise architecture while supporting business objectives.
• Accelerate innovation: spot opportunities and gaps in current domain landscapes, driving innovative out-of-the-box solutions pragmatically.
• Unite stakeholders: proactively engage Business Leaders, Product Managers, and engineering teams as a collaborative bridge-builder to drive alignment and strengthen cross-functional partnerships.
• Guide sustainable transformation: oversee complex IT change initiatives, embedding security, compliance, data governance, and architectural best practices into the core of our organization.

Your future colleagues

You will join a centrally organised, international team of six experienced Architects. You will report to the Group Director Digital & Technology. Together, the team continuously improves and evolves Triodos’ enterprise architecture capability.

You will work across value streams with Business Leaders, Product Managers and cross-functional engineering teams. You will help define domain future states and support teams to deliver them.

• Proven experience as an Enterprise architect or as a Domain, Solution, or IT Architect within a corporate environment or IT consultancy, with the ambition to take the next step towards Enterprise Architecture.
• The ability to seamlessly navigate between strategic vision, tactical domain roadmaps, and the engineering landscape of a value stream, understanding operational challenges and translating them into actionable solutions.
• The ability to seamlessly navigate and prioritize between a high number of concurrent tasks in strategic vision, tactical domain roadmaps, and operational engineering support within a value stream.
• Strong conceptual and analytical skills with a proven ability to balance top-down oversight with bottom-up insights and translating them into actionable solutions.
• Experience in working alongside cross-functional Engineering teams, Product Managers, and Business stakeholders to drive architectural alignment.
• A proactive, adaptive mindset with a keen interest in modern technology patterns, continuous improvement, and sustainable finance.
• Professional proficiency in English (spoken and written); Dutch is a strong plus

• a monthly salary between €7.020 and €9.652 based on a 36-hour workweek. The fixed annual salary is calculated by multiplying the monthly salary by 13.96, including the 13th month and holiday pay.
