The Utrecht University School of Economics (U.S.E.) invites applications for an Assistant Professor position in Economics. The position is embedded in the Applied Economics section.

The successful candidate will teach in areas including the history of economics, economic history, philosophy of economics, and economic/econometric methodology, with 60% teaching time and 40% research time.

Qualifications

• PhD in economics or a closely related field, or near completion.
• Potential for excellence in research with top journal publications.
• Ability to inspire students from undergrad to graduate levels; teaching experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and management skills; fluent in English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high-quality research in economics or a closely related field.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within U.S.E.; contribute to PPE programmes.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within Utrecht University (e.g., Descartes Centre).
• Contribute to courses where economics is reflected upon and teach in related programs.
