Qualifications

• Hold a PhD, or be close to finishing their degree, in economics or another field related to the position.
• Potential for excellence in research, targeting publications in top international peer-reviewed journals.
• Be able to inspire students from undergraduate to graduate levels; prior teaching experience is a plus.
• Have excellent communication and management skills.
• Have an excellent command of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• conduct high-quality research in economics or a closely related field;
• teach undergraduate and graduate courses within U.S.E.;
• contribute to courses at U.S.E. in which economics is reflected upon (e.g. history of economic thought, philosophy of economics, economic methodology, or related themes) but also teach at the PPE programme to which U.S.E. contributes;
• engage in interdisciplinary collaboration within Utrecht University, e.g. with the Descartes Centre for the History and Philosophy of the Sciences and the Humanities.
