Job summary

Avantium is seeking an Application Development Manager to lead the application development of Volta products, focusing on PLGA for packaging applications. You will report to the Chief Product Officer and collaborate with customers, R&D labs, and external partners to scale up and commercialize new polymer technologies.

You hold a science degree with 5+ years in application development or technical sales in polymers, can travel up to 50%, and communicate complex results clearly to diverse

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application development or technical sales in polymers.
• Experience with biobased polymers is highly preferred.
• Clear written and verbal communication to diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with customers and internal/external R&D laboratories.
• Maintain and grow partner-lab networks; manage outsourced projects.
• Serve as technical interface during sample validation and oversee trials.
• Develop application development reports/brochures with scientific excellence.
• Maintain knowledge of PLGA standards and contribute to business cases.
• Initiate product development projects with external partners.
• Ensure regulatory compliance activities with support from regulatory colleagues.
• Support grant applications and execution of awarded projects.
• Represent Avantium at conferences and scout meaningful partnerships.
