Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Zwolle is seeking a Principle Packaging Engineer to join our ANSC team. You will provide technical leadership in packaging technologies and act as SME for extrusion blow molding of bottles, labeling, and closures.

The role emphasizes project leadership in technology transfer, process improvement, and regulatory compliance, with broad interaction across manufacturing operations and global supply chains. Fluency in English is essential; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• Degree level qualification and more than 10 years experience in relevant industry role is the minimum requirement for this position.
• Fluency in English at a technical level is essential.
• Dutch language skills are advantageous.
• Subject Matter Expert level knowledge of Extrusion Blow Moulded Bottle Packaging Processes.
• Subject Matter Expert level knowledge in one other packaging discipline.
• Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis.
• Proven record of achievement in technical and project leadership.
• Ability to interact at all levels of the organisation with influencing and negotiation ability.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership within Manufacturing Technology and in packaging.
• Act as SME in extrusion blow moulding, labeling, and closure technology.
• Lead significant projects in technology transfer and process improvement.
• Support plant operations management.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis of supplier issues.
• Monitor process data on production moulds using statistical methods.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maintenance of best practices.
• Support global Abbott Nutrition Operations and drive OPEX initiatives.
