  • Excellent communication of complex scientific concepts to researchers and non-experts.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites and international conferences.

QT Sense is a deep-tech startup at the forefront of quantum sensing in live-cell biology. Based in the Netherlands, we build cutting-edge scientific instruments that allow researchers to probe living cells at the quantum level. Our mission is to unlock new understanding of diseases and enable entirely new approaches to diagnostics and drug discovery. We are developing Quantum Nuova, a breakthrough quantum sensing platform that uses nitrogen-vacancy (NV) centers in fluorescent nanodiamonds to measure free radicals and paramagnetic species in real time and at subcellular level from living biological samples. This technology has the potential to change disease diagnostics, drug discovery, and personalized medicine.

Your Role

As an Application Scientist you will act as the bridge between QT Sense’s technology and its end-users. You will work closely with researchers, drug developers and internal teams from the academic and pharma markets to ensure the QT sense’s technology is effectively utilized. You will help to develop and handling experimental wet lab protocols, analyse experimental data, providing critical feedback. You will transform complex scientific requirements into actionable solutions, providing expert technical support, conducting high-level product demonstrations, conference talks, poster presentations, actively contributing to the business development and marketing activities.

Main Responsibilities
  • Scientific Support: Design and implement experimental protocols (cell culture, drug testing, relaxometry measurements). Analyze data and provide actionable insights for end users and internal teams to influence future product roadmaps, features and new applications.
  • Technical Consulting: Act as a subject matter expert during the pre-sales and post-sales process, helping customers integrate QT Sense technology into their specific workflows. Providing training and technical support, troubleshooting complex technical issues, ensuring they maximize Quantum Nuova potential.
  • Product Demonstrations: Design and execute lab experiments and hand's on demonstrations to showcase product capabilities to potential clients and partners.
  • Marketing activities: Represent the company at conferences, workshops, and industry events to showcase the product’s capabilities, generating Leads, and pushing the pipeline in sales, actively contributing for business development.
  • Content Creation: Author technical/application notes, white papers, blogs and webinars, scientific papers, presentations and posters that highlight innovative use cases for our quantum sensing platforms.
Qualifications
  • Education: PhD. or Master's degree in Biomedicine, Molecular / Cellular Biology, Biomedical engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience with cell culture of mammalian cells (primary and immortalized), nanobiotechnology, confocal microscopy and molecular biology techniques.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive meaningful insights from experimental data. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB, R, GraphPad Prism).
  • Communication: Ability to communicate scientific concepts and translate into clear, value-driven language for highly experienced researchers and non-experts.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to visit client sites or attend international conferences.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with quantum sensors or fluorescent nanodiamonds, drug development, cell based – drug potency assays, PK/PD evaluation, clinical trials. Development of diagnostic tools and consumables.
  • Prior experience in a customer-facing technical role (Field Application Scientist, product specialist).
  • Previous experience in marketing and sales.
