• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional Java software development experience in an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.
• Knowledge of microservices and API-based integrations.
• Experience with relational databases from Java applications.
• CI/CD, automated testing, and source control.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.
• OpenShift is a plus.
• Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environments.
• Git, Jira, and Confluence familiarity.
• Frontend knowledge with Angular or React is a plus.

As a Senior Java Developer, you will design, develop, and optimize modern software applications that meet our clients' needs. You will work within an Agile or DevOps team and be involved throughout the entire application lifecycle, from analysis and technical design to development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

You will build new Java solutions and contribute to the modernization of existing applications. In doing so, you will focus strongly on quality, scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

What you will do:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java applications.
• Build backend components and services using Java and Spring Boot.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs.
• Contribute to the modernization of existing applications.
• Develop microservices and API-based integrations where relevant within the project.
• Translate business requirements into high-quality, future-proof technical solutions.
• Monitor and improve application quality, performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write and maintain automated tests.
• Contribute to CI/CD processes and the automation of build, test, and deployment activities.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, Product Owners, and other stakeholders.
• Discuss requirements, technical decisions, and improvement proposals with clients.
• Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team.

What you bring:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Java software development within an enterprise environment.
• Proven experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing, developing, and integrating REST APIs.
• Knowledge of modern application architectures such as microservices and API-based integrations.
• Experience with relational databases and database access from Java applications.
• Knowledge of software design and relevant architectural principles.
• Experience with automated testing, version control, and CI/CD.
• Practical knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with OpenShift is an advantage.
• Comfortable working in Agile, Scrum, or DevOps environments.
• Familiarity with tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with frontend technologies such as Angular or React is a plus.
• Interest in additional technologies such as Kotlin or Quarkus is appreciated.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A sense of ownership and a results-oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical topics clearly.
• Curious, eager to learn, and motivated to continue developing professionally.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
