Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking an Android - AOSP Engineer for our IPP Hardware payments platform based in Amsterdam. You will lead Android AOSP efforts, coordinating with product, software and hardware teams to deliver a robust payments solution.

The role requires deep knowledge of Android OS, Linux kernel, and HAL interfaces, with strong C/C++ skills and hands-on experience with AOSP customization. This on-site role emphasizes in-person collaboration in Amsterdam.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working with the Android OS.
• Strong understanding of the Android OS, from secure boot and the Linux Kernel to the Java Framework integration.
• Proficient in C/C++, knowledge of Java and/or Kotlin is a plus.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, Repo, Gerrit, GitHub.
• Experience with Android command line tools such as adb and fastboot.
• Experience implementing and integrating HAL (HIDL/AIDL) interfaces and wrappers.
• Experience debugging issues within the Android Framework and Linux Kernel.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Android AOSP efforts to build a strong foundation for our Android payments application.
• Engage in cross-functional conversations with product management, software and hardware teams to optimize merchant payment experiences.
• Drive conversations with SOC and terminal vendors to secure high performing components.
• Ensure software quality using the latest Android OS engineering technologies and frameworks.
• Coach team members to grow the team with the right skill set.
